🦇 10 Days in Romania. How Can Advocacy Change Youth Policy? And the Scary Beast – the Language Barrier!
At the end of January, Anastasiia Babenko and Yuliia Martynchuk took part in the training course “From Rural to Plural,” which focused on youth policy in rural areas and advocacy through media.
The training was filled with intensive work, experience exchange, and inspiration. Participants dived deep into youth policy-making processes, media advocacy, case study analysis, and the development of their own projects.
What did the girls say about the training?
🎤 Yulia:
- It was interesting to learn about the specifics of youth work in rural areas across European countries. Surprisingly, many aspects align with the Ukrainian context, which allows us to adopt successful practices.
🎤 Nastia:
- This was my first international experience, and it not only provided me with valuable knowledge and new connections but also helped me face the language barrier. So, if you’re someone who faints at the thought of “speaking English,” be scared, but go anyway! The first few days will be uncomfortable, but the people around you will support you. You’ll gain lots of positive emotions, new knowledge, and friends from different parts of the world. You will also see a new country, and create warm and vibrant memories.
„From Rural to Plural – Training course on [rural] youth policy making and media advocacy” is funded by the European Union it is implemented within the framework of Active Development Association’s ERASMUS+ Accreditation for mobilities in the field of youth.
The European Youth Village program is a strategic initiative aimed at transforming rural communities into vibrant, youth-led hubs of innovation, diversity, and sustainable development. Coordinated by the Active Development Association and Go Free Association, this program envisions rural areas across Europe becoming robust ecosystems where young people play a central role in community development and policymaking.
