KIEC European club is looking for 1 Polish candidate for 12 months EVS in peaceful and calm city in Central Ukraine. Service have to start 01/09/2016, but most probably will start – 01/10/2016.
Volunteer will be involved in work with school European clubs, library visitors and youth in the Space of Ideas.
Space of Ideas is a special project of Hosting organization, a third place in Kremenchuk. People can come here and drink tea/coffee, make meetings, read books, play some music instruments, watch movies, use Wi-Fi or visit one of our events (movie nights with discussions, evenings with table games, seminars about travels, people and art, language courses, acoustic concerts etc).
Work with school European clubs mostly consists of presentations about EU, their own country (traditions, history, and culture). Through the communication with volunteer school students will raise their awareness about European Union, European citizenship, culture, traditions and history of European countries. This kind of presentation also can be interesting for visitors of the Space of Ideas, especially within the language clubs. A lot of events which happen in the Space of Ideas include a component of youth leisure. Usually these events happen in the evening, after work/study. And their main goal is to give useful skills/knowledge to our visitors or just give space for their own creativity, to express their opinions.
Work in library mainly will happen twice a week: table games, language classes (English and/or Polish) and/or lectures/workshops/presentations like for school audience.
Volunteers will help in organization of events(movie nights with discussions, evenings with table games, seminars about travels, people and art, language courses, acoustic concerts, living libraries etc) in Space of ideas, make promotion of this events via social networks, write small articles about event, lead language speaking clubs (Polish and/or English) in Space of ideas and in library, help with current project, in organizing trainings (sometimes HO organize them in another city, and we hope that volunteer will travel with us – HO will cover travel costs). During International travelling festival of documentary films on human rights Docudays UA in Kremenchuk we expect from volunteer assisting in preparation, promotion and realization this festival (trainings, meetings with directors, Living library, exhibitions, movie screenings with discussions in Space of Ideas, schools, alternative cultural centres, coffee shops, making photos, writing short reports).
